Trip Overview
We may have only 46.6 km of coast, but in Slovenia it’s quality, not quantity that counts. Squeezed between Italy and Croatia, the Slovenian coast is full of colorful Italian-style fishing villages, olive groves and clean, clear water. It’s an idyllic place to go for a slice of Mediterranean sunshine.

Trip Itinerary
Pick up from Ljubljana airport and transfer to hotel on Slovenian coast. Guided tour of Piran. The city of Piran is one of the best preserved medieval towns on Adriatic coast with beautiful setting on a peninsula, narrow cobbled lanes and a church and fortress high above the town.
After the visit of the city you will be based in a hotel in Portorož, Strunjan or Izola just steps away from warm Adriatic Sea.
Day off for swimming and enjoying Mediterranean climate.
After the breakfast we will proceed to the largest town on Slovenian seaside Koper. After a city tour we will visit the Refošk Wine cellar, where we will taste some of the wines of the Slovene Littoral region. Snacks will be provided, do not worry you won’t drink on an empty stomach.
After our mood is improved after the wine tasting and our bellies are full we will proceed to Lipica. There the white Lipizzaner horses are born and raised since the 15th century. After the sightseeing of Lipica we are heading back to the hotel.
Day off for swimming and enjoying Mediterranean climate.
After the breakfast we are heading to Škocjan caves, the only natural beauty in Slovenia that is listed on UNESCO world heritage list. As the cave is protected it’s unfortunately not possible to visit it on a wheelchair. Instead of that we take part in a virtual 3-D tour of the cave, which is not far away from the real walk (believe us, we got scared of the high walls and deep falls a couple of times…).
The virtual 3D tour of the caves will be followed by a lunch.
From here we drive to Slovenian capital city Ljubljana and have a guided tour of the city which in 2015 got a Bronze Access City Award. We walk around the city centre that was highly denoted by a Slovenian architect Jože Plečnik and take the funicular ride to Ljubljana castle. After seeing all the important parts of the city centre and after having the compulsory coffee (Slovenians just love coffee drinking, in fact we drink much more of it than our neighbours Italians) we drive back to the hotel.
