San Francisco, Yosemite and the Gold Country・10 Days

A trip to the Gold Country must start with the breathtaking city of San Francisco; a rich combination of an urban excitement, historic significance and cultural diversity! This trip also includes the dramatic natural beauty of Yosemite and Mono Lake, and the history of the gold fever through visiting the ghost town of Bodey and the Gold Country around Sonora, and a visit to scenic Napa Valley.

Day One: Arrive in San Francisco

  • Transfer to  Hotel.
  • Welcome reception with refreshments.

Day Two: Chinatown and Golden Gate Park

  • Stroll through streets and alleys of Chinatown
  • Sample teas and learn benefits at local tea shop
  • Lunch is Dim-Sum at Chinese restaurant
  • Learn the history and culture of the Golden Gate Park.
  • Afternoon tea at the beautiful Park tea house

Day Three: Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz

  • Ghirardelli Square
  • Maritime Museum
  • Visit historic sailing vessels at Hyde Street Pier
  • Tour the Musee Mecanique
  • Afternoon tour of Alcatraz

Day Four: Yosemite

  • Drive to Yosemite
  • A stop on the way at historical Mariposa to stroll and shop
  • Afternoon arrival at Yosemite Visitor Center
  • Visit to Parks famous icons

Day Five: Yosemite,Tioga Pass and Mono Lake

  • Morning hike to Glacier Point
  • Visit famous historical building of Ahwahnee Hotel
  • Lunch in Grand dining room of Hotel
  • Drive up and through the Tioga Pass
  • Stroll around Mono Lake

Day Six: Ghost Town of Bodey and Grover Hot Springs

  • Morning wandering through best preserved ghost town of Bodey
  • Drive through the area of Monitor Pass to the town of Markleeville
  • Take a dip into Natural Hot Springs

Day Seven: Visit Giant Sequoias and Historic Columbia

  • Walk through the forest trails of Giant Sequoias
  • Visit the preserved historic gold town of Columbia
  • Overnight in Sonora

Day Eight: Gold Country

  • Visit historic train depot and old mining site in Jamestown
  • Lunch in Stockton
  • Late afternoon back in San Francisco

Day Nine: Napa Valley

  • Full-day trip from San Francisco to Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries
  • Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge for views of the Bay Area and Alcatraz
  • Admire the rolling hills and vineyards that make up America’s premier wine region

 Day Ten: Time to say Goodbye
